About the Lake Ronkonkoma Historical Society
The Lake Ronkonkoma Historical Society is an organization aimed at storing, protecting, and caring for Indian artifacts and historical memorabilia. We also provide educational programs for schools along with lectures and presentations for the general public.
The museum houses more than 1,000 arrowhead artifacts, Indian weapons and tools and an 1898 school registry. There is also a beautiful collection of Maude Adams memorabilia on display. The society also maintains the Fitz-Greene Hallock Homestead, circa 1888, with 14 rooms including 11 bedrooms; tours are available by appointment.
The Lake Ronkonkoma Historical Museum, built in 1916, is located approximately one mile north of the Long Island Expressway, Exit 60.
